Naps

We need help. How long should a nap be for Jake? Jake is taking naps, but we wake him after about 1 hour. He is cranky when he gets up and wants to keep sleeping. Should he be getting more nap time? Aslo we learned today that Jake can scream and cry really loud. I guess the loudest crier gets the most attention at the orphanage!

  1. Every child is different, but Lily (who will be 2 1/2 next month) still takes a 2 - 2 1/2 hour nap every day. Jake may be more tired this week with all the traveling he has been doing. Let him sleep until he is ready to get up. After a while you will figure out the best schedule that works. .....Also, this is the age that they become soooo independent and want to do everything themselves. Lily doesn't like to sit in the stoller at times....she likes to push it herself. She tells us "Lily Do". It takes us longer to get things done, but she has fun. Hope you are having a fun day! Look forward to more pictures and stories.

  2. My boys only used to nap for an hour or sometimes 2. If it was going to go over that and was close to dinner time I would wake them. Sometimes they were OK with that and sometimes not. All depends on the child and how they feel. Let's face it - everyone is different. You'll learn what's good for Jake and then he'll slip right into a routine for you... ;)

  3. Brooke naps 2 to 3 hours. As long as he is not taking a late nap, like Jane said, near dinner time or bed time, I would let him sleep as long as he needs. His mood will probably be better when he gets a little more sleep at nap time. It will probably be easier for all of you when you get home and into a normal routine. BTW, loved the video of him with the sippy cup. Please send more:) XOXOXOXOXO
